Company Leadership
Mr. Basha Hifato
Mr. Basha Hifato is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in Africa’s development sector. His extensive network spans across Africa, North America, and Europe, positioning him as a key figure in advancing the vision and reach of Baraka Gold Mines (Pvt) Ltd.
As Managing Director, Mr. Hifato provides strategic oversight and drives the company’s responsible expansion throughout the African continent.
Mr. Bashir Hussein
Mr. Bashir Hussein is an accomplished financial management professional with extensive experience across the service industry.
As the current Managing Director of the Sahan Group of Companies in East Africa and Turkey, Mr. Hussein brings strong leadership and deep financial expertise to the board of Baraka Gold Mines (Pvt) Ltd. He has a proven track record in financial auditing, budgeting, and strategic fiscal planning and holds an MBA from Lincoln University College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Mr. Jeffrey Scott Ackert
With over 35 years of experience in exploration and mining, Mr. Ackert brings a wealth of technical and strategic knowledge to Baraka Gold Mines (Pvt) Ltd. He has played a key role in multiple mineral discoveries across Canada and Africa, working with both major and junior mining companies. His expertise also includes executive leadership and management of publicly listed companies on the Toronto Venture Exchange, making him a valuable asset to the company’s growth and governance.
Mr. Tension Hlatini
Mr. Tension Hlatini, a highly accomplished Zimbabwean professional, brings over 20 years of extensive experience in geology, mining operations, and administrative leadership within Southern Africa. Throughout his distinguished career, he has been deeply involved in both production and exploration, showcasing a proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results. Currently, Mr. Hlatini serves as the Project Manager for the Baraka Gold Mines (Pvt) Limited, where he is responsible for overseeing the construction and commissioning of a state-of-the-art processing plant, ensuring its successful implementation and operational efficiency.

Mr. Albert Makai Ngabo brings over 20 years of expertise in engineering, business management, and project execution to his role as Operations Manager at Baraka Gold Mines (Pvt) Limited.
Albert’s engineering acumen is rooted in his education at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, complemented by the discipline and precision he honed as a U.S. Army veteran. In his current role, he is dedicated to driving operational excellence, advancing sustainable resource management practices, and contributing to the continued growth and development of Zimbabwe's mining industry.
